The Illustration Friday challenge this week is the word "OPEN." It made me think of the French Open. Here's my submission.

The Blues

The Blues. I guess technically this would be the Lavender-Blues or the Violet-Blues. I had it on an easel; I took it off the easel. It's finished. Here it is. Sob.

WEDDING

Weddings are very inspiring so I came up with two pictures. In the first, the whole city is 'blushing' with the bride; the second is a much more contemporary glimpse of a wedding guest.

And, hey, where are the men? Ha ha--I guess it's all about the dresses today.

Emergency

Illustration Friday asks that we illustrate our 'take' on the word 'emergency.'



We are told to know where the 'exit' is in case of emergency, but I would hate to be faced with this puzzling way out.

Moon

Found myself drawing another moon picture in the 'paint' program. I like this because it has no color--as is usually the case with moonlight.

Discovery

Illustration Friday, one of my favorite sites, suggests we illustrate the word "discovery." As soon as I post this I will head over to that site to see what others have come up with. I imagine a few safari types peeking through the palm fronds.... Anyway, here's mine:

Rejection

Suit

Hmm. Short shrift on this topic, SUIT, but who wants to wear a suit in the summer, anyway! I added a little summery color and a suit-like attitude

Carnations

Illustration Friday asked for 'Cars' and I knew I didn't have a 'car' in me! So I started thinking: carbon, cargo, car-hop, cards, carts, and when I hit on carnations I knew I could 'paint' this Memorial Day bouquet.
